Music Muve

US mobile music service Muve Music has lost its senior executive, after Jeff Toig left parent company Cricket Wireless. Billboard reports that Toig “resigned” from his position as senior vice president in charge of Muve Music, and has been replaced by fellow SVP Tyler Wallis for now. Toig may well have taken a new job elsewhere – our first instinct is to suggest Beats Music given that service’s upcoming launch and current recruitment drive – but Toig’s departure is also a reminder that Muve Music’s future remains open to question. Not because it’s doing badly – it has nearly 1.7m subscribers – but because Cricket is about to be acquired by a much larger US telco, AT&T. It’s unclear what plans the latter company has to keep Muve Music running, or integrate it into its existing music services.
