Madonna is giving away her latest movie on BitTorrent? Well, nobody who saw Swept Away would pay for it, etc etc. Cheap gags aside, what she’s doing with her latest project is quite interesting: it’s a collaboration with Vice called secretprojectrevolution that’s a 17-minute film promising “a hard lens on human rights” as part of a wider online initiative called Art For Freedom. The film will be released as a BitTorrent Bundle including HD and 2K copies, as well as videos of Madonna, trailers and photos from the film shoot. And while we expect some inaccurate coverage implying Madonna is distributing her music on BitTorrent (which she’s not) there’s no doubt that the project is something of a PR coup for BitTorrent, as it prepares to make its Bundle platform available to a wider range of creators.
