It may sound small, but Facebook letting people edit their status updates after they’ve been published is fairly significant for the social network. The feature is available now on Facebook’s website and Android app, with iOS to follow. The key use will be to change typos without having to remove the original post – something that could be as useful for artists and their marketing teams who have the odd splelnig mitsake. TechCrunch suggests the feature has been this long coming because Facebook was concerned that people would abuse it: posting one status, getting people to like it and then changing it to something completely different. However, after introducing the ability to edit comments last year, it seems there were no issues to dissuade Facebook from extending the feature to posts.
