YouTube has brought its new Top Fans tools out of beta, making them available for all channel owners with at least 5k subscribers. Announced earlier this year, the tools help creators identify their keenest viewers on Google’s video service. That includes a Fans Table ranking the most “engaged and influential viewers”, and an insights view to create a Google+ circle of those fans: “See what other videos and channels they’re into, and reach out via Google+ to ask a question, start a conversation, share behind-the-scenes photos, or upload a private video just for them.” Google+ is a big part of this, actually: when a channel owner’s top fans are watching one of their videos, they’ll be prompted to follow the creator on Google+ if they aren’t already.
