British music festival Bestival kicks off this week, and as in previous years, there’s an official mobile app for attendees. For 2013, there’s a new digital music partner to ensure those people can play songs in the app though: Sony Music Unlimited. So, alongside the usual line-up, map and Twitter feed features to keep attendees informed throughout the four-day event, there’s also an offer of an unlimited trial of Sony’s streaming/cloud music service for 30 days – and prominent branding for the service including the app’s title (Bestival App powered by Sony Unlimited). It’s one of the first such partnerships for Sony’s service in the UK, although we’ve seen similar teamups before: Deezer and Sónar, and WiMP and Roskilde for example.
