The latest YouTube MCN to raise funding is DanceOn, which focuses on dancing videos. It’s raised $4m in a round led by Plus Capital and AMC Networks – the latter being the parent company of the TV channel behind Mad Men and Breaking Bad. The new round follows previous funding from YouTube for DanceOn under its Original Channels initiative, with Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary also involved at an early stage. The company has built a network of channels focused on dancing, and is also working on original shows like contest Dance Showdown and documentary series The Edge. It’s currently attracting 5.3m subscribers on YouTube, with 50m monthly views and 13m monthly unique visitors to its content.
