LA-based startup Synkio is one of the companies hoping to shake up the world of sync licensing, and now it has a new CEO to help. The company has poached Global Radio’s director of digital content Ben Perreau to be its new boss, based in London. The company has been testing its new platform since March this year, aiming at creative agencies, filmmakers and games developers. “The exponential growth of video, content and video and mobile gaming has seen a rise in the volume and value of audio content,” said Perreau in a statement. “Every producer, director or games exec we speak to expresses clear pain when we talk to them about this part of their work – at Synkio, our vision is to bring the $6bn music licensing business online and change the global music business.” Competitors will include CueSongs, which has a similar focus on digital industries, but Synkio says it has already worked with more than 100 creative agencies around the world on licensing deals.
