midem

February’s Midem conference is shaping up nicely, with the news that Jean Michel Jarre will be giving a keynote session on ‘Fair Share for Creators’. No news on what kind of light show his speech will be getting, but we’re assuming lasers. Sire Records founder Seymour Stein will also be giving a talk on his career; AIM boss Alison Wenham is helming a session on labels getting back to growth; and BPI boss Geoff Taylor will be taking to the stage not to talk about piracy or Google, but to talk about YouTube and online video. A session involving WMG’s Stephen Bryan and Times Music of India’s Mandar Thakur on streaming music also sounds like it could be interesting.
