The latest band giving fans an appy way to remix their music are Swedish band Nonono, whose Pumpin Blood : Tunetrace Remix App went live on the App Store yesterday. It’s based on an existing app called Tunetrace developed by a team at Queen Mary University in London, which turned drawings into music. The new app for Nonono takes that idea and runs with it, translating drawings or photos into “a series of flashing lights, pulsating to the beat of your custom mix”. Fans are being encouraged to play with the app to unlock a ‘Wekeed’ remix of the Pumpin Blood track, while also listening to versions of the track created by other fans. The app was produced through label Warner Bros. Records.
