It’s a good day for inventive online stuff from artists. Here come French Horn Rebellion with a site called Band Geeks Gone Wild, which wants to get fans playing along to their songs. The band have uploaded instrumental versions of three songs to SoundCloud and provided sheet music for each one. “Pick a song below, choose your instrument’s key, and record yourself as you play along with the sheet music,” encourages the website. Fans are being asked to upload their performances to YouTube or SoundCloud with the #BGGQ hashtag to join the band’s ‘Party Ensemble’ – with every participant getting two free tickets to the next French Horn Rebellion gig in their city, and the chance to go backstage. “We were trying to think of a way to engage kids who play in orchestra or band, and say, ‘Hey you guys can have fun too, and this is how you do it’,” band-member Robert Perlick-Molinari tells Mashable.
