We wrote about music-focused MCN INDMusic in May this year, as it was basking in the success of the Harlem Shake meme – featuring a song from one of its clients, dance label Mad Decent. At that point, INDMusic’s network had generated more than 1.4bn video views for its label and artist partners, but a Forbes interview has provided an update. INDMusic now works with more than 300 partners, has passed 2.5bn YouTube views, and has 2m subscribers across the channels it manages – with 100m monthly views across the network. The company has just partnered with digital distributor TuneCore to further grow its network, but according to CEO Brandon Martinez, it’s thinking about opportunities beyond YouTube: “We’re certainly looking at other platforms where we can also apply the skills that we’ve built on YouTube. Other platforms, where we may be beginning to monetise or looking at better monetisation, like SoundCloud and Instagram.”
