
The latest artist tapping Instagram’s community for a digital marketing campaign is Katy Perry, whose label Capitol Music Group has launched a site called PrismLights to promote her new single ‘Unconditionally’. Fans are being asked to share snaps on Instagram showing someone they love, and hashtag it #KatyUnconditionally. The pics then show up on an interactive map on the website (well, they do if they have a location attached) which can then be browsed by hovering with a mouse. “PRISM is all about letting the light in. What or who is the light in your life? Share an Instagram of what unconditional love means to you. Tag it #KatyUnconditionally and upload it along with your story and a location to illuminate the PRISM,” as the site puts it. And it turns out that for a lot of fans, the person they have unconditional love for is… Katy Perry.
