Earlier this month, D2C firm Topspin introduced a new feature called ArtistLink Promo Exchange, enabling artists’ ads for products that they were selling to be promoted to fans of other artists, if they agreed to allow the same. On Friday, the company announced a milestone to show how it’s gone down. “Today, we achieved an important milestone when we hit the millionth promotion served through the Promo Exchange network of artists. Now that’s artists helping artists at real scale,” explained a blog post by the company. It’s a reminder that while Topspin may have lost two of its key execs this year – CEO Ian Rogers to Beats Music and SVP of product and marketing Bob Moczydlowsky to Twitter – it’s still rolling out new features. And partnerships, of course, most prominently providing artist merchandise links to Spotify.
