Coca-Cola’s Placelists app – launched as a location-based music playlists app for Spotify’s desktop client in June 2013 – has gone mobile, initially for iPhone.
The app quietly went live on Apple’s App Store on 28 December, with the same role of creating Spotify playlists for specific real-world locations: businesses, entertainment venues, public spaces and so on. The Spotify app hasn’t been enormously popular, it’s fair to say. At the time of writing, it’s only the 64th most popular application in Spotify’s desktop App Finder. Perhaps the iPhone app will give it a new lease of life.
