Columbia Records has negotiated an interesting marketing deal for the new Bruce Springsteen album ‘High Hopes’. The label is working with US broadcaster CBS on a campaign that will see the album streaming on the network’s website from 5 January in advance of its official release on 14 January. But it’s also tied in to a specific TV show, drama The Good Wife, which will feature three songs from the album in its 12 January episode. Billboard suggests that when both live and time-shifted viewing is taken into account, the episode is likely to be watched by 13-14m Americans – a good platform for the new album. However, the stream will only be available in the US, leaving the way open to other pre-release deals elsewhere in the world.
