Often, when someone launches a remix or composition contest online, the prize is less than stellar – some recording equipment, maybe, and a vague promise that the winning entry may get released in some form somewhere. Not so in the case of Hans Zimmer Wants You, where the film-music composer is looking for someone to go and work for/with him at his Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop. Zimmer has created an original theme, uploaded its stems to SoundCloud, and wants composers to “replay, recomposer or revise” it before re-uploading. “There are thousands of people out there in the world who will never get heard, and I always thought that was a great pity,” Zimmer tells The Guardian. “This seemed like a really good way to figure out not only a mechanism through which we could hear people but also through which they could turn that into a career.”
