Is it really easier to drag and drop a song or album onto social networking buttons to share it, rather than click a Twitter or Facebook button? Rdio thinks it is, and has launched a new ‘drag & share‘ feature on its web and desktop clients to prove it. “Click the album, playlist, or song you want to share, drag it to the right side of your Rdio screen, and choose how you want to share it — on Twitter, on Facebook, or with a friend on Rdio. You can quickly drag music to a playlist, too,” explains the company’s blog post. “Drag & Share is a faster, fun way to spread the word about the music you love. And that’s not a drag at all.” It might seem like quite a minor improvement, but this kind of tactile interface feature seems tailor-made for tablets, especially as many streaming-music tablet apps still don’t make as much use of this kind of interaction as they could. A possible next step towards more dragging and swiping in streaming music apps on tablets, rather than tapping on buttons and pecking at sub-menus.
