Music blogs aggregator Shuffler.fm already has one (very good) mobile app, but now it’s launched a second: an iPad app called Pause Magazine that promises “the best of the music web in 2013”. And beyond. That means songs, obviously, but also videos and reviews, features and interviews from a range of sites, including the likes of Pitchfork, Fader, XLR8R and Resident Advisor, among others. It’s all held together in a slick iPad magazine format, offered as a free download from Apple’s App Store. The obvious comparison is to something like Flipboard, except with a focus on music and music writing. Four more issues will be released this year, according to Shuffler.fm – so while this first issue covers the whole of 2013, the next ones will focus on three months at a time. In separate news, Shuffler.fm has also become the latest music service to be available through Sonos’ connected hi-fis, as part of its Sonos Labs zone. Shuffler joins fellow blog aggregator Hype Machine on the devices.
