Tomorrow night’s Brit Awards will be all over Twitter, as usual, but one difference this year will be the presence of official video clips from the event. The official Brit Awards Twitter account will be posting 60-90 second clips during the show as part of the Twitter Amplify scheme, complete with pre and post-roll ads from styling brand VO5. Expect a focus on performances and backstage glimpses of stars rather than any bad behaviour – although we’ll be intrigued to see if anything controversial does happen, whether the official Brit Awards account is prepared to tweet video itself and reap the social media rewards. TheNextWeb reports that VO5 is also working with Spotify during the event with a contest and a crowdsourced music playlist. It’s the first big Amplify deal in the UK for Twitter, which has previously worked with the likes of the NBA and ESPN on sports-related campaigns in the US.
