
Online video industry site Tubefilter’s latest monthly YouTube views chart is live, providing an insight into which channels – including music ones – were big on Google’s service in January. Pottymouthed gamer PewDiePie takes his customary position at the top of the rankings with 266.5m views in January, but it’s Katy Perry’s official Vevo channel in fifth place that’s the top-ranked music channel, with 150.6m views. Dance channel Spinnin’ Records had a big month too with 145.9m views, ahead of Turkish industry channel MÜYAP’s 144.1m. The Vevo-branded channels for Eminem (141.3m) and Miley Cyrus (123.6m) also appear in the top 10. Vevo accounted for 20 of the top 100 YouTube channels in January, with Warner Music Group taking another four slots. Meanwhile, outside music, MCN Maker Studios accounted for nine of the top 100 channels, while rivals Machinima and Fullscreen took four and three apiece.
