Latin artist Romeo Santos is already hugely popular online – his Vevo channel was the 67th most-viewed on YouTube in January, according to Tubefilter. Expect to see a lot of him online today though: label Sony Music is preparing a ‘digital day’ for the star that will see him taking over services including Vevo, iTunes, Spotify/Soundrop, People en Espanol, Terra and Exafm. There’ll also be a Google Hangout with fans and Reddit Ask Me Anything interview, and regular interaction on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #romeotakeover. It’s all to promote his new album ‘Formula Vol. 2‘ with a carefully-planned schedule that will see the takeover moving to a new service every hour, on the hour. A canny campaign to build buzz that grows in momentum over the day.
