Streaming service Mixcloud has built a monthly audience of 10m listeners from its base in the UK, but it’s now readying a new push in the US, complete with a new office in New York. That’s an attempt to capitalise on the fact that Mixcloud’s US audience is its “largest and fastest growing”, with its chosen US base likely a sign that the company intends to court North American brands and agencies, following its playbook in the UK. Partners in the US already include Vice, Dream Hotels and Internet Week New York, with plans to build teams to handle brand partnerships and “content outreach” there. One more stat: since Mixcloud’s redesign two months ago, its traffic and uploads have grown by 10%, according to the company.
