Music discovery app Soundwave launched last year with clever features to track people’s mobile listening across devices and services. Now it’s extending to the desktop too, through an extension released for Google’s Chrome browser. That means it can now track songs played on services including Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, 8tracks, Google Play Music, Songza, Deezer and (ahem) Grooveshark on the web, as well as on mobile. Pandora is a new inclusion for Soundwave as part of the extension to desktop, as well as SoundCloud – two of the most popular streaming services. Meanwhile, the Irish startup has shared some new stats with TechCrunch, claiming its iOS and Android apps have now been downloaded more than 950,000 times, tracking 65m song plays.
