Don’t worry, not their next PROPER album. ‘A Better Tomorrow’ is still on the way, and will be available to all. But the legendary hip-hop collective have revealed another, hitherto-secret album called ‘Once Upon a Time in Shaolin’. The double album will be played to fans on a tour of museums, galleries and festivals according to Forbes, which suggests they’ll have to pay between $30 and $50 to attend the standalone events, with “heavy security” to ensure fans don’t record it. Once the tour is over, the album will be sold to one person for a price “in the millions” – whether a brand or a wealthy individual – complete with a handcrafted silver-and-nickel box that makes the album more like an artwork. That’s entirely deliberate. “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of music,” RZA tells Forbes. ” We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the sceptre of an Egyptian king…” We’re starting a sweepstake on how soon the album is available on torrent sites.
Wu-Tang Clan will only sell one copy of their next album
