Samsung’s digital music activities have taken a few twists and turns in recent years, moving from its own Music Hub service through to its current mix of own-brand offerings (Milk) and partnerships (Deezer). Now Samsung also has a deal with Deezer’s biggest rival, Spotify. Announced this morning, it will see the integration of the Spotify Connect feature into Samsung’s Wireless Audio Multiroom speakers – the first such multi-room hardware deal for the feature. “More than 10 million Spotify Premium users will now be able to control their Samsung speakers directly from the Spotify app,” noted Samsung in its announcement. “Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom is the first product in the world that will let Spotify Connect stream music to more than two speakers, enabling stereo or multi room listening.” The announcement refers to “various joint promotions” between Samsung and Spotify to promote the partnership.
