Changes are afoot at Twitter, which announced the departure of its chief operating officer Ali Rowghani yesterday. Tech blogs are buzzing with speculation about the news – most suggest the buck for slower-than-hoped growth stopped with the COO, while others claim Twitter boss Dick Costolo is looking for faster innovation on the product side too. But the news also sparked journalist Mike Isaac to write a piece on his Medium blog about the likely implications for Twitter’s Media team, which includes its music activities. He suggested that the team “will undergo a drastic shift… and will instead report to the company’s fast-growing marketing and communications division in the future”, wondering what it would mean for VP of Media Chloe Sladden. Within hours, though, Sladden had announced her departure from the company too. “I’m told by many that there will be more personnel changes to come — especially inside the TV and Music wings of Media,” wrote Isaac.
