Music videos service Vevo continues to get the vast majority of its traffic from YouTube, but just like other kinds of MCN, it’s actively on the hunt for other partners to diversify its inflow of viewers. One of those partners is Yahoo, and the two companies have just extended their partnership through the Yahoo Screen video portal. Vevo’s music videos and original content is now available through the site in the US and Canada, and is likely to follow it to the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy in the coming weeks, when Yahoo Screen launches there. “Yahoo has the potential to be one of our largest partners, and our launch across Yahoo Screen and, soon in more countries and on more platforms, is a big win for viewers who want to watch their favorite music video programming anytime and anywhere,” said Vevo CEO Rio Caraeff in a statement. It’s the latest evidence of a new music pulse within Yahoo: it added music features to its Aviate Android app in February (Bulletin, 13-Feb-14).
