Tango is one of the fast-growing messaging / voice call apps, with more than 200m registered users. Now it’s turning itself into more of a social network, with the addition of a “News Feed” showing what people’s friends have been up to on the service. It’ll show text updates, videos, ads and Spotify songs, with plans to add animated stickers and Tango-enabled game updates in the coming months. Cue canned quote: “With music from Spotify now available in Tango’s News Feed, it’s a great way to share the moment. For example, if you’re having a great day and want everyone to know it, share ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams to your News Feed,” said CEO Uri Raz. This isn’t a new partnership, mind: Tango and Spotify initially teamed up last year, in a deal that saw Tango users able to share Spotify music clips with friends within the app (Bulletin, 31-Oct-13).
