Music videos service Vevo has relaunched its iOS app with a new design and features. That includes a new real-time news feed and more recommendations of videos, playlists and original shows, as well as easier playlist creation and editing features. In the US and Canada, meanwhile, the app now streams Vevo’s three linear TV channels: Hits, Flow and Nashville. Also interesting: Vevo says it’s working to put its service inside apps from other companies: “We’re excited to be working with some exclusive partners to make it easier to enjoy Vevo videos inside of even more new apps to be released soon,” as its blog post puts it. The relaunch came as Vevo CEO Rio Caraeff told the Billboard Latin Music conference that Vevo reached nearly 6bn monthly views by the end of 2013, with 65% of those videos being watched on mobile phones. “On a global stage, it’s really all about mobile. Mobile and tablet and television are where the majority of the views are happening,” he said, according to Reuters. Caraeff added that 5bn of those monthly views are outside the US, with Vevo planning to expand from 13 to 20 countries over the course of 2014.
