Here’s an interesting deal: famed independent label Sub Pop has launched its own radio station on TuneIn, the website and app that has more than 50m active listeners. The label is programming the new channel just like a traditional radio station: “Content will be programmed by the label, with radio shows like Sub Pop Rock City, Behind The Garage, Subterranean Pop, our ‘Beginners Guide’ playlists and artist specific shows from the likes of Shabazz Palaces,  Luluc, Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, clipping., and many more to come,” explained Sub Pop in a blog post. As far as we can tell, Sub Pop is the first label to launch a station on TuneIn, where it already has 3,500 followers – although TuneIn does have some artist-focused channels for Kenny Chesney, Wu Tang Clan and Avicii.
