JamCam launched as an iPhone app earlier this year as a way for people to record short, looping videos (think Vine but longer at 15 seconds) but synchronised with music from their iTunes library. The startup behind it said at the time that it was in talks with artists and labels to use the app as a marketing tool, and now one of those partnerships has come to fruition. Fans are being encouraged to download the JamCam app and record clips inspired by Psy’s ‘Hangover’ – this is through a deal with Universal’s Republic Records – uploading them to a dedicated video gallery on the service. Fans can then also watch and vote one another’s contributions, before the best clips are cut together into a new video for the Korean rapper’s collaboration with Snoop Dogg.
