News from Amazon on its Prime Music streaming music service yesterday, although as usual, there were no stats on how many people are actually using it. Instead, the news is that the service has added “hundreds of thousands of songs and hundreds of new, expert-programmed Prime Playlists” to its launch catalogue. Bearing in mind it launched with “over a million songs” that’s a significant increase, with the likes of David Guetta, Al Green, Miles Davis, Kendrick Lamar, Linkin Park, Shakira and Deadmau5 all swelling the service. “The response we’ve had to Prime Music has far exceeded our expectations and we’re excited to make Prime Music even more valuable for Prime members,” said Amazon music boss Steve Boom. Among the new playlists: Creep Out: Eerie Indie & Electronic; Bass Drops & Fist-Pumps; Songs for a Speeding Ticket [Explicit]; and ’Top Songs’ collections for Michael Bolton, Wu-Tang Clan, Backstreet Boys and Genesis.
