Given he is the most sampled artist of all time, it is only fitting that a new documentary on James Brown, Get On Up, is being linked in with WhoSampled as part of its digital marketing. WhoSampled estimates his recordings have been sampled over 4,000 times and has collated the most heavily chopped up tracks as themed Spotify playlists (and also with purchase links to iTunes, Amazon and Google Play). The site also includes an interactive timeline covering Brown and his music that stretches back to the 1950s as well as an interactive discovery component looking at the influence he had on Def Jam Recordings.
