Twitter is experimenting with new ways to embed videos in tweets using specific hashtags. BusnessInsider reports that hashtags around the A Million Ways To Die In The West and Blended movies are currently being used to test the water here. When typing in a specific hashtag, users have the option to attach a corresponding clip to their tweet. The clips currently being used appear to be “provided by” rather than “promoted by” the film studios. Twitter has not confirmed this was now be a core function, saying instead that it experiments regularly and this is one such experiment. Twitter, has of course, worked with embedded video in the past, with Blur debuting two new songs live (‘Under The Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’) back in June 2012 through the @blurofficial Twitter channel.
