Have you heard of Hohokum? It’s a really interesting project: a PlayStation 3, 4 and Vita game from independent developer Honeyslug with a strong musical tie-in. Its soundtrack is provided by indie label Ghostly International, with songs that build up in layers in response to how people play the game. The soundtrack was released last week, while last night Ghostly held an album launch party on Twitch (where else?) with artists playing the songs and talking about their work on the project. It’s the latest concert to be streamed on Twitch, and an example of how music/game collaborations can go beyond simply licensing existing tracks.
