Rdio has had a tight relationship with Shazam for some time now, but the streaming service isn’t putting all its eggs in one music-identification basket. Rdio announced an expansion of its partnership with SoundHound yesterday: a feature in the latter called ‘Connect to Rdio’, which creates a dedicated SoundHound playlist for users on Rdio, then adds any songs they identify to it. It’s another example of an awareness-building campaign for Rdio, whose iOS app was a fixture at the top of the App Store free music app charts last year after it deepened its partnership with Shazam.
