
Gracenote has a new chief executive: John Batter, who joins the Tribune Media Company subsidiary from online video firm M-Go, and before that, DreamWorks Animation. He starts work next week, reporting to Tribune Media boss Peter Liguori. “John’s strong digital experience in on-demand streaming services and video games combined with his studio experience make him a terrific fit to lead Gracenote into the future,” said Liguori, whose company bought Gracenote from previous owner Sony in February this year. On the cards now are plans to “expand internationally quite aggressively” Batter told Billboard. “I think Gracenote hears and we all see the internationalism of content. Consumers want their content wherever they are. Wherever they are extends beyond borders…”
