Until yesterday, you had to be an advertiser or verified user to get access to Twitter’s official analytics dashboard. That’s now changed. “Absolutely thrilled to open up access to http://analytics.twitter.com to EVERYONE. Check it out, and let us know what you think!” announced Twitter staffer Ian Chan yesterday, in a tweet. That’s good news for smaller labels and artists who haven’t yet got verified status on Twitter, or paid to run ads on the social network. As you’ll know if you’ve run campaigns on Twitter, the dashboard provides stats on “impressions” – how many people have seen your tweets – along with engagements like mentions, retweets and favourites, and link clicks. You can also browse your follower growth, see where they’re based in the world, and get information on their gender split and who else they follow.
