DoclerMusic is the latest service to enter the – already busy and very niche – online musical tuition market. It’s a freemium model, with basic lessons free but users are encouraged to leave tips and pay for private concerts and lessons. The service has recently fully opened after being in beta for the summer. It is effectively chasing two markets – those who want to learn an instrument and those who want to livestream gigs. Neither is drowning in Niagaras of cash so it’s debatable just if a hybrid approach will crack the monetisation nut.
