Spotify got all married up with music data company The Echo Nest back in March and just over five months later (the gestation period in digital is obviously a few months shorter – hem hem) they’ve had a new arrival – the bouncing Insights data blog. Eliot Van Buskirk, who set up, has been named as Spotify’s in-house Data Storyteller (make your own jokes about streaming royalties being fairytales) and the first posting is a lovely little interactive map telling the story of music’s migration from Berlin, London and Paris – showing where new genres were created.
