“Bored of not being allowed to enjoy Radiohead and Led Zeppelin on the same premium/ad-supported music service?” asks the App Store listing for Blitzr Music, a new music discovery app that launched for iOS over the weekend. That’s accompanied by a screenshot of the app playing the full ‘In Rainbows’ album from Radiohead, which famously isn’t available on streaming services. You’re probably guessing how an unknown app is managing to stream the album, though. “Our agnostic metaplayer (Youtube, Bandcamp, Soundcloud) gives you access to a library of over 4 million artists / 40 million tracks,” explains the listing. We’re guessing ‘In Rainbows’ comes from YouTube, where there’s no difficulty in finding ‘In Rainbows’ using a “full album” search. We suspect Blitzr Music may run into opposition from at least one of the artists whose unstreamability (yes, we just invented that word) is being used as its marketing angle.
