US firm INDMusic has been helping artists and labels squeeze more income out of YouTube for some time now, most famously Mad Decent for Baauer’s ‘Harlem Shake’. Recently, the company expanded its activities to SoundCloud, with a partnership based on its new advertising initiative. Now it’s announced a third partner: YouTube rival Dailymotion, with its 120m unique visitors and growing catalogue of music videos. And, most relevantly, user-generated videos using music as their soundtrack. “When you look at the other platforms, Dailymotion has been around for a very long time,” INDMusic CEO Brandon Martinez told PandoDaily. “Having started in France and in the UK they have a very strong foothold overseas.” As part of the expansion, INDMusic is also improving the analytics it provides to clients, tracking usage of their music across the three services.
