Dutch label Black Hole Recordings has a new online store, styled as a “Pop Up Store” selling tracks, ringtones and wallpapers. Artists featured include Ferry Corsten, Tiesto and New World Punx, but there’s a twist: fans don’t pay with money, but with tweets. For a month, they’ll be able to follow the @Blackholerec Twitter account and order individual pieces of content by tweeting the details and the #paywithatweet hashtag, getting a direct message in response with the download link. “The visitors of the store get the opportunity to acquire new tracks, ringtones and wallpapers for a period of 30 days. By doing so, we in return can build on our highly important Twitter community,” said Black Hole’s new media and marketing manager Bas Kruijssen. Twitter’s music team are impressed: they tweeted approvingly about the new store yesterday.
