Twitter held its analyst day conference yesterday, and its VP of product Kevin Weil published a blog post outlining to the world some of the upcoming changes discussed at the event. Including video. “Aside from just watching video more easily on Twitter, you should be able to record, edit and share your own videos natively on Twitter too. Alongside short looping Vine videos, we think you’ll have fun sharing what’s happening in your world through native video. You can expect to see this in the first half of next year.” Thinking of labels, though, who are already putting out YouTube videos and (perhaps) also now Facebook native videos, is Twitter one platform too far to shoot and edit new content for? We’ll see. Weil also talked about plans for “an instant, personalised timeline for new users who don’t want to spend time cultivating one on their own” – big musicians are likely to benefit from that.
