2015 is going to be the year of exclusivity in the streaming market, with big artists playing streaming services off against one another for first dibs on their new albums. Take That are getting in early though: their new album ‘III’ will be available on Google Play Music All Access for a month before any other streaming service gets it, startingnext Monday. The band will be playing an album launch on Monday at Google’s London office, with label Polydor describing it as “the first time they have partnered so extensively with a digital platform”. While the album will also be on sale from Monday, Google Play is getting “three bonus tracks that will not be available on any other streaming or download service”. Watch for more of this kind of deal in the year ahead.
