Rufus Wainwright is the latest high-profile artist to explore the potential for subscription-based apps, with the launch of his official iPhone app this week. The app comes with a free one-month trial, and is the work of Disciple Media, which made a similar app for Suicide Silence recently, and is expected to roll out apps for a range of artists in 2015.
