Spinnin’ Records was the third most popular YouTube channel in the world in October, according to the latest chart published by Tubefilter and OpenSlate. The digital dance brand racked up 191.8m views that month – up 31% compared to September, taking it from sixth to third in the rankings. It’s joined in October’s top 10 by the Vevo channels of Enrique Iglesias (sixth with 186.6m views) and Katy Perry (seventh with 185m views), although if we’re talking music, we can’t ignore fifth-placed Little Baby Bum, with its 189.3m views for animated nursery rhymes. In fact, the top 10 is a reminder of just how huge the audience of kids watching YouTube is: for once, gamer PewDiePie isn’t the biggest channel, despite 352m views in October. He was beaten by hypnotically-creepy toy-unboxing channel DC Toys Collector’s 400m views that month, with rival Blu Toys in fourth with 190.2m. Christmas is most certainly coming.
