When asked by The Hollywood Reporter why he was threatening to sue YouTube on behalf of GMR’s songwriter clients rather than other streaming services like Spotify: “Because they are the ones that have been least cooperative and the company our clients feel are the worst offenders. It’s also their attitude.” GMR’s attorney Howard King elaborated on the company’s plans: “This will result in someone blinking, and if it is not them, there will be a billion-dollar copyright infringement lawsuit filed.”
