Sony is one of the big tech companies exhibiting at this week’s CES show in Las Vegas, with two of its announcements standing out for us. First was a new sales milestone for the company’s PlayStation 4 console, which has now sold 18.5m units. That’s up from 10m in August, suggesting a strong Christmas period for the console. As ever, there are no figures to show what this meant for trials and conversions to Sony’s Music Unlimited streaming music service. Meanwhile, Sony has unveiled its latest Walkman, the NW-ZX2: an iPod touch-esque Android device that will retail for an eye-watering $1,199.99. It’s aimed squarely at the audiophile market, including support for every lossless download format under the sun.
