CES continues in Las Vegas, and in amid the drones, 3D printers and curvy televisions is some digital music news. Rdio, for example, had a flurry of announcements about its partnerships with consumer electronics companies, revealing deals with DTS, Google, Hisense and LG. That includes preloading its app on Hisense’s smart TVs and other devices, and integrating Rdio into LG’s Connect home streaming platform for connected TVs. Rdio is also one of the services supporting the new Google Cast technology, as well as audio tech firm DTS’ Play-Fi platform. “Dedicated audio devices as well as integrating music into the TV experience are priorities for Rdio,” said CEO Anthony Bay. But not just the home: yesterday also saw Rdio announced partnerships with Bosch and Jaguar Land Rover for in-car music.
